The Club has initiated a number of cooperative projects to enhance music education in the New York area. Since 1992 Club members have worked with students at the Harlem School of the Arts and Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts in New York City. This program provides members with opportunities for performance and coaching in addition to contributing to our community.

During the first few years, flutists from the Club perfomed in the vocal master classes of mezzo-soprano and Harlem School of the Arts executive director Betty Allen, and the flutists and singers performed together at the first New York Flute Fair, held in March 1994.

In the past several seasons the Club has invited students from New York City public schools and other outreach programs to attend our concerts as our guests. The performers gave special demonstrations and introductions to the students and their parents prior to the concerts.

The education and enrichment program is continuing to invite all students to pre-concert introductions and workshops. If you have suggestions for new projects, or just want to get involved, please email Susan Lurie, Coordinator.
