Tax Status

In 1971 the Internal Revenue Service recognized the New York Flute Club as a tax exempt organization under section 501(c)(3) of the tax code. Contributions and bequests either of cash or property are deductible to the extent provided by law. Further information is available from the treasurer. Artists appearing at Club concerts, whether members or non-members, contribute their services without compensation.

Memorial Fund

Through the generosity of Mr. and Mrs. William H. Hull, Jr., a collection of instruments was donated to the Club to be sold and the proceeds used to establish a fund in support of special projects. This has been named the Stephen Smith Memorial Fund after Mrs. Hull's father, a flutist of an earlier day; it has supported several publications and recordings.
