Sunday, September 15, 2019: 100 Flutes for 100 Years at Governors Island
We'll kick off the New York Flute Club's 100th season on Sunday, September 15 with a once in a lifetime event you won't want to miss. 100 flutists (or more!) will take the ferry to scenic Governors Island to play flute choir music then enjoy food and camaraderie. We will gather at Liggett Arch on Governors Island at 2:00 pm, start playing at 3:00 pm, and then we’ll have a BYO picnic (with centennial treats). Please bring your own stand and clips to secure your music.
We welcome both established flute choirs and individuals of all ages and levels to join in the fun. Club membership is not required (but it is encouraged!) The event is free of charge.
Click here (or the registration button above) to sign up for the event. Music and details will be emailed to you after registering. Bring your friends and family. All are welcome!
Jayn Rosenfeld, Nicolas Duchamp, Noelle Perrin, Stefani Starin, Rochelle Itzen, Lish Lindsey, and the NYFC Ensemble's own Denise Koncelik and Mark Vickers will conduct. This is a rare opportunity to play alongside New York's leading flutists.
Please contact Pat Zuber [patzuber.nyfc@gmail.com] for more information. Watch this page for more details/updates. Rain date: Sunday, September 22.
